This Privacy Policy explains how Reelsknot Media ("Reelsknot", "we", "us") collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use the Reelsknot platform at reelsknot.in and related domains (the "Service"). This page is maintained by Reelsknot Media to answer common privacy questions about the Service.

1. Information we collect

Account details — name, email, password, and (optionally) phone number when you sign up.
Profile details — for creators: handle, bio, category, location, follower/engagement stats, portfolio links, pricing. For brands: company name, website, category, description, country.
Connected social accounts — when you connect Instagram, YouTube, or other platforms, we receive profile metadata (handle, follower count, basic metrics) via each platform's official API.
Messages — content of chats you send through the in-app messaging feature.
Payments — plan chosen, amount, currency, and payment identifiers returned by Razorpay. Full card / UPI details are handled by Razorpay and never stored by us.
Usage data — pages viewed, actions taken, device and browser information, and IP address, used to run and secure the Service.

2. How we use your information

Create and operate your account and profile.
Match brands and creators, and power search, filters, and discovery.
Deliver in-app messaging between users.
Process subscription payments through Razorpay.
Prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
Send transactional emails (sign-in, subscription confirmation, important account notices).

3. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data only with:

Other users of the Service — profile information you publish is visible to subscribed brands or creators as intended. Contact details are shown only to Premium subscribers.
Service providers — Supabase (auth, database, storage), Razorpay (payments), Google/Meta (OAuth for connecting social accounts), email delivery providers, and our hosting provider.
Legal / safety — when required by law, regulation, or lawful request, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Data retention

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If your account becomes inactive, we retain associated data for up to 3 years before deletion. If you delete your profile, associated data is removed from the live Service promptly (see the Data Deletion page). Some records — such as payment transactions and security logs — may be retained for a longer period where required by law, accounting rules, or fraud-prevention needs.

5. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed by our auth provider. Access to production data is restricted. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for keeping your password confidential.

6. Your rights

You can access, update, or delete your profile from your dashboard at any time. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing us. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable data-protection laws.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to users under 18. Do not use Reelsknot if you are under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new effective date.
